A Unique Relationship, One Constant God
September 21. 2025
When we love someone, we want to spend as much time with them as we can. We want to learn everything we can about them. It draws us closer, and we cherish the intimacy.
It’s the same with God. Loving Him doesn’t require a scholarship. We don’t need a formal education to feel confident in His Word—especially in knowing who He is to us.
Just as we share a unique love with each person in our lives, we also share a unique relationship with God. How He shows up in our story is deeply personal. Yet His character never changes. He doesn’t play favorites; He meets us right where we are. To some, it may look like favor, but there is no need for envy. The truth is, the depth of our relationship depends on our desire for Him and the effort we put into seeking Him. And as we grow in Him, that relationship doesn’t just stay within us—it overflows into the lives of those around us.
Walking confidently in faith is rooted in the depth of our relationship with God.
First, it begins with knowing His love for us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Second, it grows as we spend time in His Word and in prayer.
Third, it shows in our transformation—the choices we make to reflect our love for Him and the reverence we hold for our position in Him.
And finally, it overflows into our daily activities and interactions.
I fail at this daily. My words can be harsh. Sometimes I lack gratitude and grace for others. There are days when I neglect His Word, or I don’t intentionally seek Him in prayer.
I am far from perfect. But one thing I know for certain: I love God—not from a distance, but intimately.
I love having conversations with others about their relationship with God. I love seeing how He is moving in their hearts, their lives, and even beyond them. I feel blessed to be part of a community of believers, beyond walls, who share my faith and love for Him. None of us are holy, but we are being made holy.
So, to my brothers and sisters in Christ: if your relationship with Jesus isn’t as intimate as you desire, know this—YOU get to change that.
And to those who haven’t yet met Christ: there is a whole new level of love waiting for you, one that will transform you into an even better version of yourself.
I hope to continue growing deeply—both vertically with God, and horizontally with others.
Love always,
Yer
